ACME (ACoustic Measurement Environment) is a measurement and analysis platform for acoustic data acquisition. The software combines DAQ control, a built-in signal generator, sound level measurement, and frequency-domain analysis into a single digital workflow. Using calibrated sensors, ACME directly generates FFT spectra, transfer functions, and Bode plots to support design decisions in R&D.
Control the DT9837A and Class 1 sensors directly. ACME handles data acquisition and calibration through a single interface.
Generate sweeps, noise, and signals directly from ACME for controlled acoustic excitation of test setups.
Calculate transfer functions, cross-power spectra, and Bode plots in real time to determine resonances and phase response.
Quantify sound levels and belt power directly during test runs to record peaks and steady-state noise.
An integrated calibration wizard and calculation modules determine absorption, reflection, and acoustic impedance in accordance with standards.
Save raw measurement signals and processed spectra in documented formats for further processing in Python or MATLAB.
Manually configuring measurement equipment and separate scripts increases the risk of calibration errors. ACME integrates sensors, Class 1 microphones, and the DT9837A data acquisition box into a single central interface. The software performs mathematical operations, FFT analyses, and transfer functions directly during the measurement. This allows you to analyze frequency response and spectral power in real time, without delays caused by post-processing.
In R&D applications, ACME is used for targeted acoustic analyses: from frequency response measurements on micro-speakers and transmission loss of dampers to the tuning of Helmholtz resonators in the context of thermoacoustic instabilities. The software calibrates microphone signals, calculates narrowband signal powers, and analyzes non-stationary sound. Both raw measurement data and processed spectra are exported in transparent file formats, making the data immediately available for verifying simulation models.
