In various industries, noise and vibrations determine a product’s performance, reliability, and market acceptance. Requirements vary widely by sector—from industrial noise standards to microacoustic precision. ASCEE understands the physical behavior underlying these sector-specific challenges. Using COMSOL simulations and measurements in our lab, we identify bottlenecks and optimize designs based on validated models.

For consumer products such as hearables, wearables, and smart devices, acoustics directly determine the user experience. However, small enclosures leave minimal space for drivers, ports, and damping. ASCEE supports R&D teams with microacoustic modeling: from microspeakers and thermoviscous losses to the impedance of meshes. Using COMSOL simulations and lab measurements via the µZ tube and IEC ear simulators, we optimize sound quality and output well before the prototyping phase.

In the HVAC sector, ventilation systems and air ducts serve as a direct transmission path for sound. Standard dampers often cause undesirable pressure drops or affect airflow performance. ASCEE supports R&D teams with numerical modeling and laboratory measurements. Using LRFTubes, we calculate 1D wave propagation in ducts and reactive resonators. In our lab, we validate silencers—including in accordance with ISO 7235—under flow conditions and determine the acoustic power of systems.
